The Ministry of Trade & Industry, which was subsequently renamed as Ministry of Economic Affairs was established in 1967. Initially, known as the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry, it was established as a full-fledged Ministry in 1968 under the reign of the third Druk Gyalpo His Majesty King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, and renamed as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Forests. Presently beside the inclusion of the Power & Mining Sector, it has been officially designated as the Ministry of Economic Affairs from October 17th 2007.

  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s in civil engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Procurement management, BBA, BBM/B.Com) minimum experience of 4 years, Diploma in civil engineering with minimum 4 years’ experience

How to Apply

Interested Bhutanese citizen who meet the eligibility criteria may submit the application to the office of the Human Resource Division, MoEA on or before 1st April 2021 with the following documents:

  1. Civil Service Employment Application Form 4/1 of BCSR 2018 (available in RCSC website);
  2. Resume:
  3. Copies of Academic Transcripts;
  4. Copies of relevant training transcripts, if any:
  5. A copy of citizenship ID card;
  6. A copy of valid Security Clearance Certificate;
  7. A copy of medical fitness Certificate issued by a competent RGoB medical doctor; and
  8. No Objection Certificate, if employed.

Please note the following information on salary & other benefits

Salary and other Benefits:

Salary of the employee shall be fixed at the starting pay of the respective level as mentioned above. The employee shall also be paid a 30% contract allowance on the basic pay and House Rent allowance fixed to the position as admissible.
